Inspired by the artist’s cat Blackie the Cat, cute and scary, Ahwroo bears his snaggle-toothed grin to express his want of attention. If he doesn’t get it, he just might scratch and draw some blood.

APPortfolio produced a polystone version Ahwroo, posed as William Shakespeare’s Hamlet speaking to a skull, symbolizing life and death, common themes in Baseman’s work.
