Update: NIGHTMARES OF HALLOWEEN PAST book by Gary Baseman

For over twenty years, Gary Baseman has collected thousands of vintage photographs of people in Halloween masks and costumes. This past year he worked diligently to assemble photographs for the book Nightmares of Halloween Past, writing essays himself, and getting others to write scholarly texts on the history of Halloween costumes and photography.

Thank you to all who have contacted Baseman Studio about the confusion over the book’s release. We know that many of you pre-ordered from indie bookstores and Amazon, and have been waiting a long while for this special book. Unfortunately in this nightmarish year of 2020, the original publisher cancelled the publication.

We are now looking for a new publisher, and will keep everyone posted about this important project. Baseman will share some of his favorite photos from this collection on Instagram through the month of October.
