Decked out in a red and black space-suit donning white gloves, a gas tank filled with 3D eyeballs, and Toby’s pointy ears, SPACE MOLLY transforms into the iconic character, embarking on her own journey to carry on Toby’s mission “to celebrate the beauty of the bittersweetness of life.”
Interdisciplinary artist and creator of Toby, Gary Baseman said: “Collaborating with artists and designers from around the world has been a longstanding joy of mine. From animation to performance to toy design, I love the challenge of seeing how others translate my original characters. The work with POP MART and the creator of MOLLY/SPACE MOLLY has been playful and serendipitous, especially with the themes of friendship and adventure.”
