Gary Baseman created a secret society of imaginary creatures for his 2015-2017 collaboration with fashion brand COACH. The Wild Beasts included Buster Le Fauve, Buddy Boy, Emmanuel Hare Ray named in homage to surrealist artist Man Ray, who is “made blind, her hands are tied and she has this fear of living in her own head,”, and Kiki Spiritual Awareness is the “good girl”, but she has “been thrown out of the gang because of her beauty and originality.”

The beasts represent the hunger that we all have, the hopes, dreams, fears and the secrets that we keep.
